Trey Duck represents clients in high-stakes disputes where the facts are complicated, the exposure is significant, and trial is a real possibility. He is known for combining rigorous preparation with a practical, client-focused mindset, whether he is guiding an individual plaintiff through a life-changing injury case or helping businesses and institutional clients navigate complex commercial conflicts.
Trey’s practice spans large-scale commercial and class action litigation. Over the course of his career, he has handled matters involving class actions, securities and financial fraud, breach-of-contract disputes, and other business conflicts that demand strategic thinking and comfort with large, technical records. He brings the same level of intensity and creativity to all of his cases, from nationwide class actions to individual disputes.
In addition to his commercial work, Trey devotes a substantial portion of his practice to catastrophic personal injury cases, including serious vehicle collisions, product-related injuries, and other accidents that leave clients facing long recoveries and substantial losses. He is committed to telling his clients’ stories clearly and persuasively to insurers, judges, and juries.
Trey also has deep experience in False Claims Act and whistleblower matters. He has represented whistleblowers and government entities in cases involving alleged fraud in healthcare, banking and finance, and other regulated industries. That experience has given him a detailed understanding of how fraud schemes are structured and how to build cases that can withstand close scrutiny.
Energy and natural resources disputes are another key part of Trey’s background. He has litigated a wide range of oil and gas matters, including royalty underpayment disputes and complex contractual disagreements involving exploration and production activities.
Across these practice areas, Trey has appeared before judges and juries in multiple states and has represented clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings.
Trey grew up in East Texas and is a third-generation Baylor graduate. His father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were Baptist preachers, and his mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were public school teachers. He earned both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from Baylor University and is proud to be the first lawyer in his family. During law school, he was an active participant in Baylor’s trial and appellate advocacy programs and competed on national moot court and mock trial teams that earned top honors for the school.
